A website is not
a thing you buy.
It is a thing you run.
Certificates expire. Domains lapse. You put your prices up and the website still shows the old ones. A competitor answers their Google reviews and you do not. None of it announces itself. You find out when a customer mentions it, and by then you have lost the ones who said nothing.
The care plan is one person whose job it is to notice first.
Two halves, one plan
Defensive
Hosting, domain, SSL and email handled. I check the site daily, watch it for downtime and keep backups, so a problem surfaces before your customers find it.
Offensive
I keep your Google Business Profile current, post to it monthly and answer every review, with the numbers in your monthly report.
Most maintenance plans only sell you the first half, which is the absence of a disaster. You cannot see it, so it never feels worth the money. The second half you can see every month.
What is in it.
Hosting, domain, SSL and email
All included, on South African infrastructure. I do the renewals so they never depend on an email you might miss.
Changes in two working days
New prices, new staff, new hours, new photos. WhatsApp me and it gets done. No ticket system and no waiting in a queue.
A daily health check
The site is up, the certificate is valid, the domain has not lapsed and nothing broke overnight. I check it every day.
Uptime watching and backups
The site is monitored around the clock, so if it goes down I know before your customers do. Backups are kept, so a bad day costs you an afternoon.
Your Google Business Profile
I keep it current, post to it monthly and answer every review in your voice. Most web designers stop at the website and never touch this side of it.
A monthly report and a quarterly score
What was done, what Google did and what changed. Every quarter the site goes back through the same 71-check test, so you can see whether anything has slipped and what the work actually shifted.
Who this plan is for.
It does two jobs at once. It keeps the site, the domain and the email working, and it works your Google listing so the people searching for what you do actually find you. Neither half needs a shopfront.
That suits a business whose customers go looking for a service in an area and pick from what comes up.
Good fit
A trade, a clinic, a shop, a practice or a supplier that people find by searching a service and a suburb.
Poor fit
Work nobody would ever start by searching for, sold nationally or by tender rather than found locally.
Not sure
Ask me. One question about where your last five customers actually came from usually settles it.
Frequently asked
Hosting keeps your site on the internet and your email arriving. That is a utility and it is what most people are paying for. The care plan is my time: changes done, the site checked daily, uptime watched, backups kept, your Google listing worked on and a report every month. The hosting is included in the price, so if I already host you, you are not paying twice.
New prices, a new team member, updated hours, a page of new services, swapping photos, adding a document. The ordinary running of a business. It is done inside two working days and you ask by WhatsApp, not by opening a ticket. A redesign, or a whole new section built from scratch, is a bigger job. If what you ask for turns out to be one of those I will say so upfront and quote it separately.
That the site is up and serving the right page, that the certificate has not expired, that the domain has not quietly lapsed and that nothing has broken since yesterday. These are the failures that take a business offline for days because nobody was watching, and by the time a customer phones to tell you, you have already lost the ones who did not.
Yes, for the care plan itself, because it looks after a website. If you only want the Google Business Profile side, that runs on its own as a separate service and does not need a site.
No. It runs month to month and there is no term to sign. Your domain and your site stay yours throughout, so nothing here depends on tying you down. I would rather you stayed because the monthly report is worth reading.
Where did your last five customers come from?
Message me that one answer and I will tell you straight whether this plan would do anything for you. It costs you a WhatsApp.
What that one answer tells me
- Google or your listing sent them, so there is something here worth maintaining and I will show you what.
- Word of mouth sent them, so hosting on its own is probably enough and I will say so.
- You are not sure where they came from, which is the thing to fix first.
